my story

My name is Romy Weinberg. A self-taught knitter, I first picked up a pair of needles when I was in my 20s. Sitting in a hospital room visiting my ailing grandmother, my mother decided to teach me how to knit. Being a busy magazine editor and single gal, I didn’t get very far and stuck the bag of yarn and needles in the back of a closet.

Fast forward to 2014 and, having newly relocated to Connecticut—with two young children in school—I discovered the bag of yarn and supplies while unpacking boxes in the new house.

Thanks to YouTube and my local yarn store, I was able to learn the basics (again) and started to build my repertoire of stitches and styles.

Now I can make (almost) anything and romyknits is my dream come true.
